Those are great mantras. I already use many of them. My version of "don't put it down, put it away" is "touch it once." That's probably the one that goes through my head the most!
I love a timer. We have two: one upstairs and one downstairs. Setting a five minute timer once a day in the kitchen saves my life. I always get more done than I think I can.
That story about Nate at the baseball game is so precious!! Saving that idea for the future. At my 4 year olds Mother’s Day presentation he yelled out from the stage - Mom, don’t look at me!! 😆 Maybe knowing ONLY I am watching would be better lol
I recommend the audio. I'm sure paper would also be great, but it's a full cast narration with some archival audio and in-flight comms spliced in. I think it won some kind of audiobook award.
I think it was Kate who taught us years ago to "just take the extra steps" Like when you're carrying laundry to your room, don't just set it in there...put it away. If you're delivering shoes back to your room, don't just throw them in there...walk the few extra steps to the closet and put them away. It saves you time and mental space in the long run. I think of that every single time!
Yes! I try to carry it to completion when I can. Oftentimes we think we are too busy or don’t have time but it really doesn’t add that much time to the task!
Love the messy mom suggestions! Great ideas for us type B moms :)
For Nate - the 9/11 oral history from Garrett Graff ("The Only Plane In The Sky") was INCREDIBLE
I love the Hannah’s mantras for messy moms section!!!
I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

Touch it once is a great spin on this! Thank you for sharing!

The visual timer is such a good motivator! It’s simple but I agree, so helpful!

I saw that he also wrote one on 9/11! Need to add that to my list!
