Things We Found Interesting
They’re getting rid of ‘red tape’ in Washington. Literally. (you may need to create a free account to read this)
A helping of hope: updated cancer statistics from the American Cancer Society. The risk of dying from cancer in the United States has decreased 32% over the past 28 years. This success is largely because of fewer people smoking. Still a long way to go, but progress is being made.
This chart showing fast food companies by number of stores and revenue per store. A few takeaways: (1) wow CFA! I mean, they do double per store than Chipotle. And they do it in only six days per week!; (2) Micky D's kills it AND has a ton of stores (the G.O.A.T.); (3) I wish we had Shake Shack. h/t to Liberty for the chart.
A quote from one of Nate's favorite books (he thinks of this when the kids drive him crazy):
“I’ll tell you what is convenient,” he said after a moment. “To sleep until noon and have someone bring you your breakfast on a tray. To cancel an appointment at the very last minute. To keep a carriage waiting at the door of one party, so that on a moment’s notice it can whisk you away to another. To sidestep marriage in your youth and put off having children altogether. These are the greatest of conveniences, Anushka—and at one time, I had them all. But in the end, it has been the inconveniences that have mattered to me most.”

Things We Devoured
Kate could not put down the book Carrie Soto is Back. She loved it! It follows a famous tennis player who comes out of retirement to defend her title. The relationship between the father and daughter, the ending…I still get goosebumps. This is my third book by Taylor Jenkins Reid (also read Malibu Rising and Daisy Jones and the Six) and it is hands down my favorite so far.
We watched the movie “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” On the surface it's a simple story of a woman trying to file her taxes. But then there is a rift in the multi-verse and things get, well, wild. If you go in expecting a Marvel movie, you'll hate it. If you are expecting more “art," it's enjoyable (and we laughed a lot). It's up for 11 Oscars! Nate gives it 4/5 stars.
Beat On Repeat
“Back To You” by UTAH (Nate loves music with no lyrics)
In Case You Missed It
Kate is still singing the praises of the beloved wide leg pants (Kate suggests sizing up)
These washcloths are a new favorite for both Kate and Jess; it's like you can feel them pulling gunk out of your face!
Heatless overnight curls are all the rage, and you only need a robe tie to achieve them
