Power Nap #4
Funny and thought-provoking media from Kate and her team for a quick, refreshing pick-me-up.
Things We Found Interesting
The Washington Post tested 12 supermarket marinara sauces. You will need a free account to view the whole article. The winner? Rao’s Homemade Marinara
An ode to Kraft Mac and Cheese. It even invokes those infamous Barenaked Ladies' lyrics, with which we wholeheartedly agree: “If I had a million dollars / We wouldn’t have to eat Kraft Dinner / But we would eat Kraft Dinner / Of course we would, we’d just eat more.”
What did the world Google in 2022? Two of the top five subjects were cricket matches! And not one thing from inside America was in the top 5. It's a wide world out there…
Two quotes on success (or failure?)…
“Success is going from failure to failure without losing your enthusiasm.” - Winston Churchill
“The road to success is paved with mistakes well handled.” – Daniel Coyle, author of The Culture Code: The Secrets of Highly Successful Groups (we have not read the book)
Things From The Gram
1. Kate went to Costco and shared a grocery haul
2. Kate shared how her fourth kid has humbled her in the sleep department
3. Nate has nightmares about this. And this (thanks to @simplefamilyfaith for sharing)
4. Nate loved this - where Mr. Beast pays to cure 1,000 people from blindness. “Half of all blindness in the world could be fixed with a ten minute surgery.”
Things We Devoured
Jess drooled over a cooking reel by @edeneats on IG and decided you really haven't enjoyed cauliflower until you've cooked it like this. If you've ever had Yafo, it tastes just like their cauliflower. There's something about the boil and roast combo that takes the flavor to the next level. It's honestly fire without the tahini sauce too.
We watched “The Bear” on Hulu a few months ago, and after Power Nap 2, NTK follower Emily Halley reminded me about it. We liked it! It's about a NYC chef who moves back to Chicago to take over his recently deceased brother's restaurant. It's VERY fast paced (they talk fast; they are yelling at each other in the back of the restaurant) and somewhat stressful, but it's funny, and we thought the ending was great!
Robot photo of the week…
Have you heard about any of the new AI programs where you input a text prompt and it “creates” a piece of art? This is what one program (Dall E 2) came up with for the prompt “Naptime Kitchen.” Pretty cool.
In Case You Missed It
1. Kate shared why this toddler bike is the best purchase for the early years
2. You need to make Ina Garten's Parmesan Risotto ASAP
3. Kate shared her current bedding details here. She swears by her down comforter (She's had one hold up beautifully since high school!) and it looks like it's on major sale for President's Day!
4. Kate has bought this shirt in multiple colors and styles because it's the perfect material for Lowcountry weather.
