Power Nap #47
Funny and thought-provoking media from Kate and her team for a quick, refreshing pick-me-up.
In Case You Missed It
Kate shared her thoughts on the juxtaposition of Ash Wednesday and Valentine's Day falling on the same day.
Kate shared some organization tips involving shoe box lids and shoe boxes - the best (free!) recyclable drawer organizers.
The Stricklers had a blast in Disney. Recap video here. Well, until the stomach bug got them on their second to last day 🫠
Kate shared her best packing tips from their road trip to Disney. The 3 Girls Scout Bag held their pool stuff along with all of Nate's things and the 4 Boys Scout Bag held Kate's stuff. A Lands End canvas bag (details on why it's the superior bag can be read here) held some extra stuff for the kids. But the real winner was using a hanging shoe organizer to hold all the kids clothes.
TWO IMPORTANT NOTES FROM KATE
Hey friends! I wrote these two blog posts years ago (part one and part two) and some of the sentiments shared in them resurfaced recently when talking with a friend. In these posts, I share why gym childcare can be life-giving for you, and also why it can be really healthy for your child. Re-sharing the posts for anyone interested, along with a photo from the season I used it the MOST. John Robert was 3, Scout was 21 months, and Millie was two months. Gym childcare was my therapy in that season!
Part 1: why it matters for mom
Part 2: why it matters for the child
2. We are wanting to do something special for Take Them A Meal March and we need your help! If you have a go-to recipe you take to others, will you submit it on this form? We need your name, the link to the recipe, sides you love, and why you love it. The goal here is to create a crowdsourced document to help others! We will also be featuring some favorite submissions in The Power Nap during the month of March.

Things We Found Interesting
A few Power Naps ago, we shared the “seven signs of high agency people.” Along the same lines, this essay by Cate Hall on “how to be more agentic” was excellent. “Find real edges, don't just grind harder.” “Increase your surface area for luck.” “Learn to love the moat of low status.” All good advice.
In case you missed it, Tracy Chapman and Luke Combs doing “Fast Car” at the Grammy's is worth watching.
Here's a reminder to wear your seat belt:
