Power Nap #48
Funny and thought-provoking media from Kate and her team for a quick, refreshing pick-me-up.
In Case You Missed It
Kate shared her thoughts on reserving half of her makeup drawer for her girls.
Kate shared a tomato soup recipe (all while Nate educated her on economics).
Kate and the kids love this laminator for displaying their daily schedules on the fridge. Magnets here. Daily Responsibilities Chart can be made your own here!
NTK stamp approval items from last week: this fireproof case for important documents, this game is a favorite to play with JR and Scout before school, and these no show socks.
Things We Found Interesting
Cousins are disappearing. “[T]he researchers of the kinship study projects that the average Canadian 15-year-old girl will have just 3.6 living cousins in the year 2095, compared to 15.3 in 1950 — a 76 percent decrease in living cousins.” (Nate has 6 cousins; Jess has 4; Kate has 17!)
The surreal life of a professional bridesmaid. “Working with the bride, she develops a cover story to explain her identity to other wedding guests. If the cover story is that she went to high school with the bride, she memorizes the street names near the school and extracurriculars they did together. If she and the bride decide they met at yoga, she learns the names of the studio instructors.”
Apparently, there is a secret NBA Chess Club. If only CNN and Fox led with this type of news! h/t to Marginal Revolution.
Kate loved this, from @thenester's newsletter Cozy Minimal{list}:

NTK Take Them A Meal March
We asked you Power Nappers to submit your favorite recipes to bring to others and boy did you deliver! We received over 180 submissions with some incredible advice accompanying each recipe. We are working on a crowdsourced document to help you as you consider how to serve your neighbor. In the meantime, here is a submission from Natalie of Jacksonville, FL that sounds incredible.
“I love this recipe for new moms or people who are in need of a hug in the form of dinner. Hearty, savory, and a little different from the typical bake. Serves a crowd, too. Serve with bag salad and crescents/fruit to ensure kids are happy too” - Natalie
