Power Nap #58
Ask yourself these questions before you plan your summer
In Case You Missed It
Here's what to do when the meal plan goes off the rails.
If you struggle with flies of any and all kinds, you want these. Comes in a two pack and works really, really well. These are great for keeping flies off the table.
This Amazon bathing suit is GREAT and has good coverage. It comes in many colors but Kate got it in green and received so many compliments. She ordered 4 suits from Amazon and it's the only one she kept from the haul.
Take this trick into your summer pool days. Popsicles on the go!
Looking for sunglasses? These are really well made and the perfect neutral. This pair is even cheaper at $12 and Kate had them since 2021.
If you feel overwhelmed about where to invest your time and money this summer, ask yourself these questions. Here's a free printable worksheet for you to use as you think through your summer plans.

Things We Found Interesting About AI
It's hard to keep up with all the “AI Updates” out there (especially for non-tech savvy people like us), but here are some things we've seen that are pretty cool:
Sora is an AI model that can create realistic and imaginative scenes from text instructions. Here is a website showing 15 of the best videos people have created so far, including pirate ships fighting in a cup of coffee and golden retrievers playing in the snow. It probably won't be long until you can type in your own plot and it will spit out a whole movie for you to watch. Wild.
Suno does the same thing, except it takes text and turns it into music. Here is a song Nate made with this prompt: “Song about Naptime Kitchen writing a book while dreamily looking out the window for inspiration." It gave us a good laugh. You can play around on the website; it's pretty cool. Probably great for wedding or birthday speeches.
Maybe related to the rise in AI? Dumbphones are making a comeback. h/t to the Friday Update
There is a new Chat GPT. The lastest is called GPT 4o, which replaces Chat GPT 4. Rumor is that Apple is talking to Open AI about integrated it into Siri on iPhones. H/t to Liberty
If anyone uses these on the regular, we would love to hear of specific use cases. One we've heard: You can give some AIs a prompt and the turn it into a photo, so you could do: “kids color book page with a unicorn, butterfly, and horse” or whatever your specific child is obsessed with. Then print. We also thought this New Yorker cartoon was interesting (and smart?):
Thank you all for submitting your favorite “obscure” books in the last Power Nap. Throughout the summer we are going to feature a few you all recommended in each Power Nap so we can all diversify our reading lists with some new underground favorites. Starting off with Two Obscure Books Nate Can Recommend (each was also submitted by a Power Napper!)
Here's the list in its entirety.
