Things We Found Interesting
We recently had a Power Nap dedicated to AI. Here are a few use cases shared by readers that we enjoyed! Thanks to all for the email submissions!
Using AI to meal plan, from Marie Jolly: I’ve asked it specifically for 4 dinners for $60 or less from Aldi when I was looking to trim the grocery budget. I’ve fed it the website of a food blogger I like and a list of ingredients I already had in the fridge and told it to find me a recipe from her website that I had some of the ingredients for that i could riff off of. I ran a meal train for a woman with a long list of dietary restrictions. It spit out meal suggestions so people would be less intimidated / more likely to sign up to bring her a meal.
Using AI to plan trips, from Alyssa Filuta: Put in something like this: "Plan a three-to-four-day trip to your city of choice (we used Louisville, KY). We have two small kids, one of which still takes a nap. Both kids are boys who like sports and being active. We would also like kid-friendly restaurant suggestions." And it spit out a whole plan with awesome options!
Using AI to help kids learn to read, from Sarah Maggio: I use AI to generate decodable stories with specific phonics skills on a topic of interest to the child!
In other news, Nate is considering picking up German finger wrestling as a hobby (picture below, more pictures in the link).
Throughout the summer we are going to feature a few “obscure books” sent in by you all so we can all diversify our reading lists with some new underground favorites. This week we've got Two Obscure Books Jess Can Recommend (each was also submitted by a Power Napper!)
Here's the list in its entirety.
