Chartreuse is a liqueur produced by Carthusian monks based on a secret 1605 recipe. “[T]he only people who know the full recipe are three monks—and the two that actually make the liqueur each only know half the formula.” Recently, the monks released a letter stating that, henceforth, they will be severely limiting production. In their words: “Basically, we look to do less but better and for longer.” Less, but better, and for longer. Sounds like a good approach to life. h/t to the Browser newsletter.

Things We Devoured
Rumor had it that the Car Mom's Broccoli tasted like lobster, and, lo and behold, JR and Kate agree! We put it over pasta and it was delicious!
Nate listed to Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, a 2004 novel from Susanna Clarke. Set in England around the time of the Napoleonic Wars, its premise is that magic once existed in England and has returned with two men: Mr. Norrell and Jonathan Strange. It was fairly long, but excellent, and listening was great since everyone has an English accent.
