Power Nap #96
Hi from Yosemite! / How I eat when traveling / Incredible garage organization for under $100!!
Hi from Yosemite!
We just finished our second day in the park and it was EPIC! We hiked the Mist Trail up to Vernal Falls and then on to Nevada Falls. The views were unreal and my legs are tired. We are here for Johnny’s tenth birthday and it’s been really wonderful. Full disclosure: it’s not all roses. He’s ten. We have argued. He has complained. I have complained. But all in all I am really, really grateful for this time with just him. I will be sure to share more but here’s a few photos.
How I eat when traveling
…so I don’t get constipated
This isn’t rocket science, but here’s what I have been doing and it has really helped. Namely, I try and avoid bread. I do usually end up getting some sort of cheeze-it for plane nausea, but I try and avoid sandwiches, bagels, etc. as much as possible. What I do:
I either pack a yogurt from home or buy one. Preferably greek because #protein. I like making at home and bringing because then I can add chia seeds (fiber!), hemp hearts, and frozen blueberries. (Sidenote: this little pouch is my favorite for packing 1-2 items and keeping them cold. I use it a ton in the summer even to take a few cheese sticks to the park.)
I try and buy a green juice or a smoothie at the airport if one is offered.
I pack an apple.
If the airport has a Starbucks, I am 100% getting egg bites. High protein, filling, but bread free.
On the plane I get club soda. Sure some might say the bubbles would add to bloat but I find they settle my stomach.
I walk/stand as much as I can before boarding (I have been known to turn an unused ticket counter into a standing desk).
I wear a flowy dress. This might sound crazy but I love having nothing constricting around my waist.
I buy the largest water bottle they sell.
I pack to-go packs of Miralax. Thankfully I have rarely had to use these over the last few years, but it always helps to have them.

In Case You Missed It
Here’s my typical Costco haul (with a full list included).
This new children’s books about feelings is EXCELLENT. This ministered to me just as much as the kids.
I continue to use the same outfit formula for airplane travel. Here is this trip’s rendition.

Home Reset Sale
If you haven’t heard by now, I’m running a summer sale on the 16-part audio course I created, The Home Reset.
When I stopped seeing my house as something primarily to be admired and instead chose to see it as a tool to be used, my mindset about how to clean & organize my space changed. It’s exactly why I created The Home Reset.
This podcast walks you through EXACTLY what I do to clean and refresh our home twice a year. Not to add pressure. Not to push perfection. But to help you love your home as it is, and use it as the life-giving space it was meant to be.
Don’t wait…this podcast with accompanying printable checklists is 25% off only for the next 2 weeks!!!
Molly’s Must-Haves
In honor of The Home Reset summer sale, I am sharing two products over the next two weeks that have greatly helped my sanity in the chaotic black hole that is the garage. Especially as we spend a ton of time outside this summer.
First up, this ball organizer.
For me, one of the trickiest spots to maintain any semblance of organization is the garage. As soon as I step in there I am immediately overstimulated by all the stuff--kids' toys, water play activities, sports equipment, chalk, bubbles (my nemesis). In the summertime our garage becomes a hub of sorts for our family and neighborhood kids with everyone running in and out to grab different toys and tools for whatever project they're dreaming up. I knew I wanted to have some type of system so our garage didn't get out of control, so I am REALLY enjoying this organizer! I use one section for all water-related toys, one for balls and sports equipment, it also has hooks for helmets and roller blades and little shelves that store the chalk and bubbles. I can even roll up a towel and put on one of the shelves for the inevitable messes that happen with outdoor play. I love that it has wheels so we can just roll it out into the driveway and then when the kids are done playing, they know exactly where everything goes instead of just throwing it on the ground in the garage. This really is a win all around!! - Molly
Here it is in action at my house:

You need to be taking magnesium when you travel! Total game changer with constipation. Both the pills and chewable tablets work well. Hope you have a great rest of your trip!
I almost never read newsletters, but I love yours. I look forward to Nate's quotes and Molly's Must Have items. Thank you!
