Power Nap #134
A New Way to Q&A
Hello friends! We have been brainstorming a way to do more Q&A’s without making this newsletter too lengthy. I also want you to be able to hear my tone when answering more personal questions so I may be sprinkling more audio snippets to do so — hear more on this below:
I know many of you have suggested a podcast, but if I am honest with myself I don’t think I have the bandwidth for that right now (nor am I sure I have enough interesting things to talk about!). From every person I have talked to who has one, they are a great deal of work. But I do absolutely love audio (that’s why we made The Home Reset audio!!). While I know this isn’t a perfect solution nor is it a podcast, for now, we will try it and see how it goes!
The 20% OFF Supergoop Friends & Family sale is here! They also have some amazing bundle deals for an even better value. You can restock on the products you already love in a bundled deal - or try all of the viral favorites for the first time if you haven’t yet.
Here’s the lowdown on my favorite Supergoop products:
Play Everyday SPF Lotion: the easiest to apply on kids because it goes on like smooth lotion. We use this all over our bodies all spring and summer. Adults too!
The Unseen Sunscreen: It’s seriously unseen. I use for reapplication throughout the day because it goes on dry, isn’t greasy or sticky, and blends like a dream. They now have an unseen sunscreen body version that I really want to try!
The Play Everyday comes in a stick version that makes it even easier to put on the kids. NOTE: this stick is the best around. Way larger than any other we have used. Cannot recommend this brand enough!
The Power Nap is free each week, and sponsors like Supergoop help make that possible! Thanks for sponsoring this Power Nap, Supergoop!
ALSO! Tuesday on Instagram I said I would be giving away a set of Supergoop products to a subscriber of The Power Nap and that lucky winner is:

In Case You Missed It
We’ve been working with a local web developer to make something really cool: A website that takes the Amazon items I love, screens them to see if they are on sale, and if they are on sale, they show up here!
I am getting so much joy out of this new system for hanging my hats.
Here’s how it felt seeing my book in another language.
We are in our Great British Bake Off era. Here’s the recipe we made and here are 4 tips on teaching kids to crack eggs.
This is the secret to the best cookies — and here’s the recipe I love more than any other.
This is my newest supplement (re: parm is the new protein craze)
We’ve had multiple questions about bathing suits. Last week I talked about tall-girl friendly one pieces and you all loved this one. All of my favorites are here (and I included a one-liner about why I love each one).

Two ways social media is being used right. In other words, someone who is super into something niche does it fantastically and — due to the incredible power of social media — is able to connect directly to the people who are also into it. I predict that niche hobbies may save the world. A. Youtube Weatherman Max Velocity: A meteorologist named Max livestreams storms as they cross the country, looping in live storm chasers, updated weather warnings, and radar. First, really good if you are in the affected area to follow storms minute by minute. Second, like watching the Weather Channel, but way better? The kids and I watched it three times this week. B. My Analog Journey: Music Exploration Without the Algorithm — YouTube channel that curates niche music genres playing vinyl records in a plant-filled room. Brazilian gospel, Japanese 80s melancholy, Afro-Cuban Funky Grooves. Pick something you’ve never heard and hit play. via OSV Field Notes.
Two summer-related items from Recomendo: A. The US National Park Finder filters all 63 U.S. national parks by their best months to visit, as well as listing their top activities and best spots for stargazing. B. Midway is a tool to help people in different cities find a meetup destination they can each reach by a direct flight. You put in two or more departure cities and it shows you every destination reachable by direct flight from all of them, with filters for distance and flight time. Great for planning a girls/guys weekend with friends scattered around the country.

Molly’s Must-Haves: Summer Prep Heroes
Summer is almost here which I know can bring both a mix of excitement and overwhelm as we look ahead to a change in routine. To prepare for the summer change, I have 3 items that have been very helpful for me in years past and will be using again this summer. The first is the Back of the Door Organizer (one of our first Molly's Must-Haves). I have four of them scattered throughout the house but the one that is most useful in the summer is kept behind the downstairs closet. I fill it with sunscreen, bug spray, hats, goggles, kids' sunglasses and any other hot-weather items so we can easily grab them before we head out for the day. Getting out the door is almost always chaotic in our house so having something that relieves that stressor is HUGE for me! Another item that brings a bit of sanity is this Garage Organizer that I purchased last year and gets constant use. Our garage easily spirals into disarray so having a place where balls, outdoor toys, buckets, water play items, etc. can have a permanent home is so helpful. It can be rolled out when the kids are playing with neighbors for easy access as well! The final item that may seem small but has been such a win for my kids is this Water Pump. It attaches to a large jug of water (purchased at the grocery store) and allows the kids to pump water freely without constantly running the hose and wasting water.
Jess here. I discovered this recipe in December and I’ve pretty much made it weekly since then. The kids love it because well, it’s pasta. I love it because it’s packed with protein. I use homemade bone broth, Rao’s Marinara, and Greek Yogurt instead of ricotta cheese for extra protein. I also make it in the Instant Pot because I pretty much make everything in my Instant Pot (IP) these days (I love that it keeps food warm if I want to start cooking earlier in the afternoon ahead of dinner). Pressure cook for 5 minutes once you add the noodles. It’s comforting, nourishing, and downright delicious.

Love, Love, Love Max Velocity. That Smores Pie looks divine and can easily be made gluten free. So going to try this
Can Jess give us more details about making that soup in the instant pot? Are we just using the sauté mode for everything until the noodles?
